the marvelous traces
of former rivers and lakes;
the fancy shapes
in a humid cavern;
the whimsical rocks
after so many winds.

Things to admire
are slow to come;
miracles flicker
faster than the joy of wonder;
too early to fall for,
and suddenly gone;
the right word found,
nobody to hear.

White lilies for shining eyes;
a breast for heartbeat;
no matter what it is
while it's here as it was;
blind to the signs of death,
the vision of true love.
